Studio update

I made some changes to the studio last week.
Needed the IKEA shelves in another room,
so I brought back the blackboard
and some metal shelves to organize all my stuff.
Oh! and I hung the bird cage by my desk
to keep me company.

The Lovebirds came to me yesterday
and asked if they could temporarily use the cage
while the new occupant arrived.
Of course, I said yes :)

Shop update

A new birdie has been added to the shop!
Look for a couple of more new prints
in the shop next week,
and a small handmade edition of
"The Tiny Book of Birds",
Volumes I and II as well.

I treated my boys to some yummy

The Tiny Book of Birds

This is a little accordion book I made today.

I learned book binding
while visiting my sister in Spain
almost 13 years ago.

I wrote the title with watercolor and
a very fine round brush.

It makes a really cute display.

The "Tiny Book of Birds"

measures 2 by 1.5 inches.

Bird cage

I bought this beautiful piece of junk last week...
I had been on the lookout for an old bird cage
for some time and I just fell in love
with this rusty metal one as soon as I saw it.
The bits of turquoise just won me over.
Now I need to make a little birdie to live in there...
The cage is 20 inches high and
13 inches in diameter.

On my mind lately...

I've been obsessing about the ocean lately 

and I came across these wonderful

seaweed pressings at Martha Bellocq's Etsy Shop. 

They arrived today and I just can't stop looking at them, 

they are so very beautiful.
